Where we are, and where we are going.
GigTrotter turns a screenshot of a ticket into a wallet entry and a pin on your map — no typing. That core works today. This page is an honest account of what is finished, what is not, and what comes next.
Today
What works right now
Everything here is live in the web beta. The iOS and Android apps load the same site and are in closed testing, not yet in the public stores.
Screenshot capture
Drop a screenshot, photograph a paper ticket, or scan your camera roll in bulk. Reads tickets, boarding passes, hotel and restaurant confirmations. On our 42-image synthetic test set the parser scores 97.9% of fields; accuracy on real tickets is being measured in the pilot, and every parse is shown to you before it is saved.
Confirm before it saves
Every parse lands as an editable card, never a silent write. Anything the parser is unsure of is flagged for review rather than guessed at.
Your wallet
Tonight's ticket, upcoming gigs, and everything you have already been to — with seat, entrance and standing details lifted straight off the ticket.
Your map
Every confirmed gig becomes a pin. Per-pin privacy: future plans are visible only to your inner circle, enforced in the database rather than the interface.
Save a gig you have no ticket for
Add a gig to your wishlist before tickets are in your hand. It sits in the wallet as something you are watching, and becomes a real entry the moment you capture the ticket.
Venue pages
Every venue gets a page: what is on there, your own history, and how many GigTrotter regulars have been. Useful to you, and the beginning of something useful to venues.
Doors tonight, and who else is going
The day of a gig, it says so. And when someone in your inner circle turns out to have the same night in their wallet, you hear about it — without either of you having to announce anything.
Trips, memories and year in review
Flights, stays and gigs in the same window cluster into trips automatically. Every year with pins gets a shareable review.

What we are building now
All aimed at the same thing — making the app worth opening between gigs, not only on the night.
Reminders on your lock screen
Alerts appear when you open the app today. Getting them to arrive while it is closed is push, which needs a new build of the iOS and Android apps rather than a website deploy.
Follow an artist or a venue
Hear when someone you follow announces a date or goes on sale, instead of finding out when it has sold out.
Email forwarding
Forward a confirmation email to your own capture address and have it parsed automatically. The parser is ready; it needs a real inbound domain.
Where this goes
The bigger idea
Built, but deliberately switched off until each one is genuinely ready. Better to ship five things that work than ten that half-work.
Gig discovery
3.8k upcoming shows across the UK and Ireland right now, refreshed nightly, with a city filter and a For-you rail built from the artists and venues you follow. Independent venues can list directly — the feed covers the big rooms, the submit flow covers everyone else.
Face-value resale
Sell a spare GigTrotter-issued ticket at face value, never above: the buyer pays face, you get your money back, the old code dies and a new one is issued. Built; switched on with card payments.
Tickets direct from promoters
Promoters set up ticket types, sell through GigTrotter at full face value, and scan a signed QR at the door. The pilot is a handful of Belfast gigs; card payments switch on once the Stripe account is connected.
Apple Wallet passes
Your ticket on the lock screen, offline, where you actually need it at the door. Asked for by our own testers.
How we build
Zero typing
If you have to type it in, we have failed. Capture should cost one screenshot.
Private by default
Future plans never leave your inner circle. That rule lives in the database, not the interface.
Nothing half-shipped
Features stay switched off until they work. An empty room is worse than a closed door.
Run a venue, or promote gigs?
We are looking for a small number of independent venues to work with early. Get in touch through the support page.
